Looking at kintsugi, Japanese art of repairing pottery by making it more valuable, putting gold on the resin used to repair the cracks

When realising how something loses and gains new function when broken then repaired, I looked into the planned obsolescence of modern technology. All the soul and identity you put into your phone is lost when it breaks, it’s value goes from thousands to nothing.

How would you regain some of that value and how would you show it losing its use?

I feel maybe a phone broken flashing it’s final images across its screen could represent this

I can also try to ‘repair’ the cracks using kintsugi

Making it a useless but pretty brick
